Yesterday morning Erik and I had a son :D
Troy Michael was born at 3:53 in the morning on May 9th. He weighed 7lbs 14 oz and is 20" long. His hair is sort of black with blonde streaks in it so I guess we will find out what color his hair is when he is older. LOL I am still at the hospital and can't be released until tomorrow but I am trying to use that time to rest since I won't really be able to any of that once I am home.
The labor and delivery was really rapid but no major complications from it. Momma and baby are both healthy and just need some extra monitering and recovery.

38 weeks today. Baby should be making his way into the world soon. We are really excited and can't wait to meet him. Athena has been telling us for days that baby brother is going to have blue hair. She seems to be doing well with the whole thing so far and seems to understand that there is a baby in there that will soon be home in his crib. We are hoping that continues once daddy has the baby in his arms. Jealousy may or may not be a problem.
I am sure we will have pics to post when he is born since a really good friend of mine has given me the gift of free newborn portraits from the hospital. She is really talented and did my "maternity shoot" for me as well. They turned out really cool and you can check them out here: http://lisahodnetphotography.com/blog/?p=3
I LOVE them. I can't wait to get some prints and put them in Troy's room.
That is about all their is to report without going into more potty training woes.

We are at week 35 and expecting this little guy to be just like hi sisters and not want to come out. We did, however, have a 32 week Labor and Delivery visit. Everything calmed down, baby stayed in, and I was sent home with a large cup of water. We are getting everything ready around the house and will hopefullly get a carseat soon since I am asked if we have one every two weeks.
Other than that things are the same around here. Athena is our little parrot and learning so much. Alex is doing well in school and horses. Erik and I are doing very well.
Maybe I will try to get some pictures up soon. I had a really cool photography shoot with a friend of mine and she got some awesome belly pics :D

I make fun of Erik all the time for getting old because I am such a loving and caring wife like that. He's only 28 so he's not even nearing old, but the occasional gray hair or "dirty old man" joke finds it's way into our daily lives. I had just found a gray hair and lovingly plucked it from his head to show him. So the "old" thing was on the brain.
We were in Athena's room playing with blocks when she decided to start telling us the colors of everything. This is one of her new favorite games and I like it so much better than the "what's that?" game. She grabbed her hair and said "Athena's hair is red". So we asked her what color mommy's hair was and she told us "mommy's hair is black". I asked her what color daddy's hair was and without missing a step she pointed to his head and said "white".
I swear I almost peed myself. I think she was pointing at where the top of his head meets the forehead which is getting a little bit wider these days, which is funny enough on it's own, but I had JUST given him shit about the one gray hair. It was hysterical.
And because I have exposed my beloved husband's gray hair, I will now admit that I too have been finding a few grays here and there. It's more noticeable in my hair than in his though.

I know I rarely post, but I really feel that I would just be repeating the same things that I repeat on my blog and on my mommy boards. Life has been really good here even with the crazy ass pregnancy hormones. For some reason they have got me good this time and I have been a huge ball of crazy. Just ask Erik LOL
Alex is doing well in school and in her horse lessons. Hopefully she will quit the "9 going on 18" attitude and stop sneaking shit out of the kitchen. That would be nice.
Athena is potty training and learning so many things that I cannot even name them all. Right now she is clomping around in my knee high suede boots trying to play basket ball.
The pregnancy is going well. We had some reasons to worry but have pretty much resolved or have a short term resolution for everything. Little Troy is measuring about a week ahead and I have been told that we can induce at 41 weeks this time rather than waiting until 42 like last time. It's slightly comforting I guess.
Erik really likes his job. I think it helps that the guy he works with has the same childish sense of humor as he does LOL
So that is life. We are all doing really good and I can't complain...except about the pain in my ribs and my swollen ankles :D

I am still alive. I just never post here. I am even slacking on updating Mommy the Maid. I have an excuse for the last three months though. Morning Sickness.
That's right!! After months of trying, Erik and I are going to have a baby in May! I am due only three days before Athena's birthday. Strange timing huh? We are both so excited and have been talking about names a lot. We are hoping for a boy, but we will be just as blessed with a third little girl. I get to find that out just after Christmas.
Just wanted to share :D

I know a lot of people don't read this blog anymore as I never post on it, but I really wanted to reach out for some help here. On my blog Mommy the Maid I am participating in the Blogathon 2007. The charity I chose to donate to is one that is near to my heart and many of you know why.

You can find my original post there.
Basically on July 28th I will be up for 24 hours and updating my blog every thirty minutes. I am asking for sponsors to donate money which will go to the American Diabetes Foundation. You can sponsor me here:

Every dollar helps and you can do it anonymously if you would like.
Thanks everyone! I hope that on the 28th some of you will stop over and see the randomness that will be posted.

I made the grave mistake of taking a shower by myself today. In retaliation for this crime, Athena has hidden my glasses and they are no where to be found.
Let me rephrase that. They probably can be found, they just can't be seen.

I have gone and fucked up my knee again. I am not sure what I have done to it, but it was more than likely something simple and stupid like putting the dustpan under the sink or something. It hasn't felt like this since 2 or 3 days after my surgery on it. I knew it could happen, something falling loose from all the torn and icky stuff in there, but I figured if I could play a triple header in Dodgeball being one of the only girls so I rarely sat out, that I could handle simply house hold chores.
Doh. My bad.
I think I just wanted to complain.
Thank you.

So far my summer vacation is going well. I really am not sure why I call it a "summer vacation" though. It's not like I am getting any sort of vacation out of it. The girls and I are having a good time though which is really all that matters.
On Monday we went to a backyard pool playdate and had a great time. The pics are still on my camera, I will get them off there eventually. Yesterday I took the girls to see Ant Bully and Athena sat there and watched the whole time. I was so proud of her. Then Alex stayed the night with her friend and I got to find a bunch of stuff in her room that I should not have.
I was not snooping. I was trying to enter her door to look for a library book that needs to go back. She is currently in her room moaning about the fact that I told her she had to clean her room about 45 minutes ago, and find the library book.
Today has been a bit slower, but that will pick up here shortly. The girls and I will be hitting the library (hopefully with all the checked out items in hand to return) and then to Target to get some more Crayola wonder paper. That stuff is very highly regarded in my house. Then it is off to Alex's softball practice where I will be chasing a two year old around and doing an anti-getting-rained-on dance.
My two minutes of alone time for the day has expired. Athena is doing her fake cough and Alex is trying to negotiate this cleaning her room thing.

Thank you to all you special people that made our night so much fun last night!! We never go out anymore (having kiddos will do that to you), but seeing all those friendly faces last night made us want to try more. I have a really good friend that watched the kids for us last night and I think I will try to bribe her to do so again so we can maybe come out one night next month.
We had a blast!! We got tired around midnight or so, but I am sure our sinus infections had something to do with that :D
Hopefully I will see more of you, more often.
I know I don't post here much, but I have a blog on blogspot that I try to update daily during the week http://mommythemaid.blogspot.com

I have the urge to pull my daughter out of school, quit my sewing business and other money making opportunities that I take, and homeschool.
I cannot believe the number of things that have happened at schools.
The 6th grade teacher that was arrested recently for soliciting sex from what he thought was a 13 year old girl, was a teacher at Alex's school. I had friends at Columbine, I have friends with kids at Platte Canyon.
It is all just too close to home.

Yup. Still here. Still boring. Still busy.
Alex is getting ready to start the third grade. Tomorrow night we get to meet her teacher and drop off her school supplies. Then there is a family picnic where we are hoping to meet some of the kids in her class before classes start next week.
Athena is talking a mile a minute and has a pretty impressive vocabulary. She is telling us words that we didn't even know she knwe.
Lenore is still pretty "special".
Erik is doing well at work and is going to start doing his geeky RP stuff with some frineds.
As for me...besides being sick (again) today, I am doing well. Hanging out with my mommy friends, getting my website up and going, and sewing till my fingers hurt and then sewing some more.

Well, sorta. Been very busy. Got some pretty devestating news form the doc last week. Had fun at Ren Faire. Alex is adjusting very well and excited about her new school. Athena is a walking and talking tempter tantrum throwing toddler. The cat is still dumb although a bit less spastic. Had a birthday. It was acctually rather enjoyable. Imagine that. Burro Days coming up and I am very far behind. Bleh.
That's about all I've been doing besides the regular ole parenting, cleaning, playdates, and such.

It is way past my bed time and I am very tired. A migrane has haunted me all day. Bastage migrane.
Anyway, I went to my mom's to do laundry today and stayed for a while because Alex hasn't seen her in a while and was very excited. I found out that my sister is one of "those girls" on Myspace. Pics of her trying to be sexy or whatever they think that is at the age of 12. I told my mom of this and she said "it's no worse than what you or your brother were doing". My mouth hit the floor! I have a MySapce account and I really only started it to keep up with Lesa who doesn't have an LJ. None of my pics are ass shots are 12 year old almost clevage shots. I am disgusted. She had no idea what MySpace is. I told her about the recent accounts in the news and she said "Her dad told her not to get on there". Ummm...so you did know about it? WTH?!? I know she stopped being a mom once my dad left (2 years before my sister was born) but come the fuck on! My sister is young and impressionable and does not need to be on that site doing the things she is doing. She showed me some pics she took of Athena on her digi cam and I looked through the others too. Her friends were posing all sexified and they were pretending to kiss and all sorts of stuff. I am hoping those are just fun and not meant for myspace. Some perv sees two 12 year girls licking tounges and then what?
Ugh...
And that was only part of my day.
